The Government has launched a Minerals Strategy for New Zealand, supported by a Critical Minerals List, to lay a strategic and enduring pathway forward for New Zealand’s minerals sector.

Earlier this year, New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals (NZP&M) introduced processing timeframes for minerals and petroleum applications received from 1 July 2024, and committed to publishing results quarterly on its performance against those timeframes.
